If you are a foodie and you are in Japan, go to Nara and try the best mochi ever! Nakatanidou Mochi Shop is near to the famous deer park and offers yomogi mochi.
The green rice cakes are made with Japanese mugwort, azuki beans and sweetened soybean flour. The dessert itself is absolutely fresh, warm and so delicious!
Every 1.5 – 2 hrs you can watch a show how they make the rice cakes from scratch. Of course, every time is crowded, but it is worth to wait!
The current owner Mitsuo Nakatani has been making this for 25 years and definitely he is a mochi master! He is also an Instagram and YouTube star.
We tried so many Japanese sweets during our holiday and this mochi was incredible!

How you can get there?
From JR Nara station to the shop is about 15 minutes by foot. You will find it easily, because the place is located at main street. From the shop to Nara park is about 10 minutes walking.
