We highly recommend a small restaurant named BẾP XOÀN. The owners are very friendly, they don’t speak English very well, but they will help you with Google translate. 🙂

The food is very tasty and absolutely worth it. We chose gỏi cuốn (fresh spring rolls) and the woman prepared them in front of us. Every ingredient was crispy, yummy and fresh. Really good food in Ho Chi Minh, if you are looking for some local cuisine!

We recommend also cơm tấm (broken rice). For many locals in Ho Chi Minh City this is usual breakfast.

The cơm tấm dish include honey-glazed barbecued pork chops, sunny-side-up eggs, spring onions on a bed of rice. Of course, these days you can order cơm tấm for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

The place is easy to find, clean and air-conditioned – perfect spot to hide from Vietnamese sun.
